Skating/Hockey Instructors:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide skating and/or hockey instruction to students ages 3+.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greet students & parents in a friendly/professional manner.
  2. Assist students with skates and equipment. 
  3. 
Assist with ice format set-up before class.
  4. Record attendance every week of class.

  5. Instruct students in elements of class level.

  6. Evaluate students and complete forms required by program. 
  7. Instruct at camps, group outings, and birthday parties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to Skate. 
  2. Previous experience coaching and/or working with children.
  3. Ability to communicate with students, parents, other instructors, and management.
  4. Reliable, Committed, and Dedicated.
  5.  Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Customer Service/ Front Desk: 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Delivers excellent customer services to parents & program participants. Responds to customers needs, promotes programs, answers telephones and maintains cleanliness and organization of front desk area. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides excellent service to customers in person and on the phone contributing to member retention. 
  2. Greet and assist customers and students and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner. Be enthusiastic towards members by learning their names. 
  3. Checks students in for classes.
  4. Assist existing and prospective students in finding the right class for their needs.
  5. Provide program information and requirements in an accurate and courteous manner. 
  6. Handles and resolves customer concerns and informs management of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

  8. Schedules birthday parties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  2. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
  3. Basic knowledge of hockey and/or skating. 
  4. Nights and weekends a must.
  5. Approx 20 hours/week.

Maintenence/Zamboni Driver

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining the ice rink surface and the facility. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs a variety of skilled tasks in constructing, repairing, and maintaining skating rink facilities and its equipment. 
  2. Performs general repairs in the facility.
  3. Maintains restrooms and performs janitorial duties.
  4. Operates ice resurfacing machine and manual edger to prepare ice surfaces for skating.
  5. Enforces rules of rink, maintains security of building during youth activities.
  6. Oversees on occasion monies collected with responsibility for night deposits.
  7. Monitors ice-making equipment, gauges proper temperatures; secures protective barriers; performs other related manual duties assigned necessary to efficient ice skating operations.
  8. Oversees skating area during public skating sessions.
  9. Locks the facility at the end of the shift. 
  10. Performs related work as required.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to work nights & weekends.
  2. Working knowledge of the use of tools, equipment, and materials commonly employed in work performed.
  3. Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in work performed.
  4. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
  5. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public.
  6. Ability to lift 50lbs
  7. Ability to work in a cold environment.
